Why we use this material for our soap dishes:
Diatomaceous earth is a purely natural product. It consists of the shells of fossilised diatoms. One millimetre of diatomaceous earth consists of countless diatom shells. The fossilised sedimentary rock, which formed in freshwater lakes from the interglacial period onwards, has rows and rows of tiny pores, making it act almost like a sponge - moisture is quickly absorbed, stored and slowly released again. The surface feels almost chalky, but does not rub off.

The soap dish should be cleaned of soap residue from time to time: Simply wipe off with a brush or sponge and warm water and leave to dry until the next use.
